What is it about Sonex and some other US aircraft manufacturers that they can quote specifications and performance for the pilots of the World??
How hard can it be to add the few keys strokes, that would give the metric equivalent and for use backward types Knots??
From a customer point of view its very poor sales /marketing practise.
I was hoping to see knots myself. But I can do the math.
I use knots because that is what we navigate with. 1 degree + 1nm etc. Not sure why anyone would need to use metric with navigation. I get why mph is popular, 160 mph sounds like you are faster than 140 Kts lol
Not about being able to do the maths - its just not a “good look” and when you consider the minimal effort required to add the “inclusive” information, a tad insulting.
Yep! I have conclude the same. Mph looks faster, so lets go with that illusion - cheap performance enhancer.
So do the math.
It would seem that I have offended our USA friends with the use of a common rhyming slang descriptor.
If so, I apologies, while noting the psychological fragility of the nation so described .
No harm skippyD, we are all accustomed to you being a jerk on this and previous sonex builders site.
Thanks for that particularly personal attack?
It certainly has the same disdainful/consistent tone of “So do the math” so lacking in respect for those of us who do not inhabit your country.
You probably don’t care that you are reinforcing a negative stereotypical view of your people & how they relate to the World.
Alright everyone, let’s please keep this discussion focused on the high wing…
It’s looking really good so far. I’m looking forward to seeing it at the open house this year.
I’m sorry for my outburst. My previous account has been banned for poisoning the discussion. I will endeavor to keep things civil going forward.
Just so everyone is clear, no accounts have been banned regarding this discussion. @jiffygasoline, if you are having issues accessing your old account, please reach out so I can help you access your other account. I don’t want misinformation spreading that I’m going around and banning people for unwarranted reasons.
Flaps are electric ? - saw the pilots left thumb doing something. What of trim?
B models are electric and work great. I would guess they are most likely electric flaps on this also.
What of trim?
My last aircraft & my current S Legacy have manual flaps, which after years of flying Cessna’s, is great.
I find the manual much more responsive.
Not done it on the Legacy but on last aircraft often used to raise flaps, just before mains touched down, which negates ground effect and gave posative breaking from the point of landing, should a short field be desirable .
I cant imagine doing this with electric flaps.
I see no reason why you couldn’t, just flick the switch and they come up pretty quick
