I have received conflicting information. Is the Dynon compatible with the AeroVee Turbo sensors?
Which display? One of the older EMS-Dxx ones or a newer Skyview with an SV-EMS-220 module?
I have not purchased anything yet but I was considering the 7” Skyview.
There’s a guy here that said put in a Dynon Skyview system with an Aerovee turbo:
I’m curious where you saw it wouldn’t work. The biggest difference would be the MAP sensor and Dynon MAP sensor is good for 0-60 InHg where the MGL one is good for 6-74 InHg which is a difference but 60 inHg still seems like it would work from what I’ve seen but I don’t know the full operation limits.
Some of the MAP/pressure sensors don’t work with the older Dxx stuff but that wouldn’t be an issue.
The Dynon SV-EMS-220 also has 6/ea of J and K type thermocouples with should be plenty. I can’t come up with any other reason why it wouldn’t work.
Thank you very much, that is good news. My information was dated at best. I had to set the project aside for awhile and then just concentrated on finishing the airframe. I am almost there and looking ahead to avionics. When I first looked into it I contacted Dynon with the simple ask of whether their products would interface with the AeroVee and got a simple “no” so I never looked further. Some recent notes led me to re-evaluate and here I am! There is a lot of experience in my EAA chapter with Dynon so I am happy to hear the EMS-220 will get me there. Thank you.
