I stand to be corrected;
Every photo/video, I have seen, of an Australian Sonex, shows aircraft without wheel pants/fairings.
Is this because many of our Sonex operate on dirt strips?
Dirt strips tending to be a fair bit “rougher” than sealed. The dirt causing the spriggy undercarriage leg to oscillate violently, which then damages the pants???
If the above is true - Other than leaving the pants off, is there solution that is known to work?
