Trig TT26 transponder?

Does anyone have experience or information on the TT 26? I see them as used on e-Bay for $1000. Seems too good to be true for a unit with the GPS built in. I am interested in controlling it from a Grand Rapids Sport EX. Add a $140 GPS antenna, transponder antenna and a little wiring for a cheap ADS-B solution.

I think the TT26 is certified for UAV use, not manned aircraft. So you can’t use it to comply with ADS-B mandates.

Yes, it also is for UAV, but it is also good for at least experimentals. Just curious about issues of failure and whether the Grand Rapids EFIS will control it. I am pretty confident it will, but it would be good to talk to someone who has done it. The TT23 is the new model like this, but is around $3000.
