Tracy O'Brien C 90 Brakes

Hi, I am Brian Ham from Australia and I have fitted Tracy O’Brien brakes to my Sonex aircraft.

Apparently, the company has closed down, does anyone know where to purchase new C -90 brake pads?

Hi Brian - I too have TO’B breaks on my Sonex and would love to know where to get replacement parts from.
I hope someone can help both of us. :smiling_face_with_horns:

From Aircraft Pilots.Con where I asked your question:

AI Overview

Yes, replacement brake pads for Tracy O’Brien C-90 hydraulic brakes can still be obtained, though the original primary website and storefront are now closed. Because Tracy O’Brien has transitioned or sold parts of the business, here are the most effective ways to source the pads: [1, 2]

  • Direct Inquiry: You can still contact Tracy O’Brien directly via email at tracy@localaccess.com to check the current inventory of replacement pads and Viton seals. [1, 2]
  • Manufacturer Transfer: The tooling and inventory for some of Tracy O’Brien’s designs were purchased by Experimental Aircraft Metal Fabrication, making them a prime contact for these specific parts. [1]
  • Online Aviation Groups: Check specialized forums like the Sonex Aircraft Builders forums or dedicated Facebook groups such as Challenger Ultralight for second-hand sales or to connect with other builders. [1, 2]

If you are comfortable sharing:

  • What specific aircraft (e.g., Sonex, Challenger) these are for
  • Whether you are looking for organic or metallic pads

I can help you narrow down your search or locate other universal alternatives that fit your setup. :smiling_face_with_horns:
