I got my new tail dragger gear mount to suit the Rotax ring mount from Sonex recently and about to do the toe in.
First question I have is, should the 0.7 degree toe in be set with the fuselage level or in the taxi attitude, the B model plans don’t specify but all the drawings on the plans page are showing the fuselage to be level.
I mention this because if set to 0.7 in the level attitude, the toe in changes to around 2 to 3 degrees in the 3 point attitude, perhaps this is the intention so that any attitude that doesn’t hit the prop will still give some toe in?
I think I can set the mount up in my garage to the 60 degree firewall angle and as long as I find the true front of the axles this should work out the same as if it was installed on the aircraft.
Anyone think of reasons not to do it this way?
