Hello, I’m building a model A Sonex, and was considering installing a stall warning sensor in the wing; has anybody done this? Would like to know about it’s positioning in the leading edge.
Thanks and regards,

Not quite what you asked about but I installed a mechanical LRI (Lift Reserve Indicator).
It works well and requires no power. I find myself using it more than the ASI when taking off and landing. You can see it here (top left of the panel).
Apologies for the poor video quality.

Hi Dale, not worry about the video, beautyful landing!!! This LRI is something like the one I have in the RANS S7 I’m flying until finish the Sonex. Having no indication about the positioning I think will use the audio alarm from the AV30 I’m installing (alarm activated with critical AoA) going directly to the radio…
Thanks for your reply…
Roberto.
I have a Dynon Angle of Attack (AoA). You do a series of stalls. Set the audio warning to come on at whatever AoA airspeed you want.
If everything, in a landing, comes together nicely, I hear it as I flair.
There is a visual image on the screen but I am too focused on the landing picture/airspeed, to look at it.
I don’t really use it for approach to landing & never for TO:smiling_face_with_horns:
