Just a heads up - Wayne Daniels has once again graciously agreed to host a Sonex BBQ during Oshkosh. This will be Wednesday evening before the night air show, and is likely to be the last one at Wayne’s.
Once I set up the signup, I will post it here - this is an all volunteer event, requiring people to help Wayne, help shuttle folks to and from the show, and donate some $ for the food at the BBQ.

That link shows the BBQ date as July 29. Airventure 2026 runs from July 20 through July 26…

Good catch! The bbq is usually held every year on a wed nite, which is the nite airshow. maybe robbie or wayne can chime in to post a correction.
This year should be jul 22.

Because I entered the wrong date, any edits delete existing entries. So I added 7/22
If anyone mistakes the date they have more pressing challenges.

Please stop at the check in stand in waynes hangar, $15 donation, get your name tag and raffle ticket.
We are 38 days to airventure. The sooner you sign up the easier for wayne and kathy to plan for food and drinks.

Wayne has asked that those who are able please head over to set up around 4 pm. And again, just to clarify - the BBQ is Tuesday July 22nd - I believe the signup has the wrong date.
The only way I can change the date is to cancel the entire event and re-post it. That ain’t happening.

My bust - too many things at once. I’m currently covering the Women’s Air Race Classic race. Super cool and there’s a LOT of young ladies in the race. That’s great to see!!

Also, regarding the sonex bbq, i had sent out an email
inviting the sonex staff as we always do. Stephen responded and
they will be joining us and is excited to meet everyone.
He indicated that wayne had also reached out(thanks wayne!) to invite them. He also said that they will be hosting an open house july19 - details to come soon!

HI All,
21 days till the bbq, pls sign up if you havent. Weather , as you have
seen the midwest has been under a high heat dome, rain, humidity,
thunderstorms, reports of tornadoes. When we get a week out
should have a better idea of what to expect. Fingers crossed.
Also, we need more designated drivers, thanks byran for volunteering!
