I had a seat sling failure at about 1190 hours. Apparently the cause was one of the following:

  1. I am getting fatter. Comes with getting older I suppose.
  2. too many bad landings.
  3. Bad flying practices. As most of you know, I fly like a jackass.

The seat was of the “lowered” variety, so it only dropped about 1/4". Just enough to test the sphincter.

The repair was to splice with another piece 0.025", using 3 rows of rivets on the bottom, and 4 on the back (extra row for the hinge) . Seems legit enough.
