Prop for 2850 Corvair Engine

Anyone running a 2850 Corvair engine in a Sonex or Onex?
What prop works well with this engine?

Hi Jeff,

A friend with a 2850 Corvair on a Sonex used a 54/56 from Tennessee Props (IIRC) and it worked well. I use a 54/58 Sensenich on my 3.0 Corvair and it climbs well with that. I have considered maybe a bit more pitch but I like the climb and the speed is light sport legal.

Different prop manufacturers have different ways to come up with the numbers they use so it may be best to call the maker of the prop type you are considering.

I’m currently running a Sensenich 54x58 prop on my 2850 Corvair powered Onex.
I’m looking to try a prop with more diameter and/or less pitch, maybe a 54x56 or 62x51 or anything in-between.
Anyone have a prop for sale?
