Good morning fellow builders
Today’s “shopping” question.
Has anyone used Spruce’s A-740 Ratchet Control for their mixture control? Seems like a nice option.
TIA

Yes. You can hear it in this video (about the sixty second mark) as I go full rich before engine start. It has worked very well.
They are available with a red knob. I like it because my carb heat is next to it and if I should move the wrong one (hasn’t happened yet but could I guess) the ratcheting motion (or not) let’s me know which control I have moved.

I’m currently flying.with this control for mixture and do not recommended it. As others have found and reported, it creeps during flight. The ratchet isn’t strong enough to hold for the vibration we have in our airplanes. If you don’t wish to go the full vernier version of mixture control, others have found that a push button form of control works much better than the A-740. Hope this helps.

I have a full vernier mixture and it is awesome. I also find that if friction is not dialed up on my throttle it creeps in pretty quickly.

In my never ending quest to avoid the 2.5 multiplier, I have found many locking throttle cables in the $30 to $50 price range.
