Greetings from Oshkosh!

Thanks to Robbie I’ve found my way here to the new forum! Thanks for providing a new place for all of us gather and share all things Sonex!

I’m the guy that lives on the SE corner of Wittman Field in Oshkosh. I’m sure many of you are aware of the Wednesday night cookout and airshow viewing at my hangar…7th Heaven. YES, we are hoping to do that again this year and should have some info soon.

I have Sonex serial # 444 (N444SX) which first flew March 10, 2006 ..so it is an elderly member of the fleet! It is a Legacy model taildragger with dual controls and a Jabiru 3300 Generation One under the cowl. I’m as elderly as my Sonex and have acquired a few health issues along the way so haven’t had Purple Haze off the ground for about 3 years, but hoping to resolve that this year.

Hi @oshpilot and welcome to the forum! Thanks for sharing a picture of Purple Haze; I love the color. Glad to hear that the Wednesday night cookout will continue. Thanks for joining!

Plane looks great. Hope you are in as good shape and both back in the air soon. Had wanted to attend one of your cookouts for the past several years, but declining co-pilot (wife) was not able to travel. Hoping to get there this year, but nothing planned yet.

David A. Sonex TD #1327, CAMit 3300. lots of minor mods.
