original aero carb 400hrs.
On run-up throttle would not advance fully. Shut down throttle went to stop. On start-up throttle would not advance past half way. Any suggestions on what would prevent full throttle while engine running?

If this is the original push to open aerocarb, I think the old forum had discussion regarding the throttle plate binding. It’s worth a look.
Welcome to the forum!
I found an old thread on the wayback machine.
I have to clean the aero-carb. Any advice on what to use and what lube to apply to the slide?
I use mineral spirits to clean up. I’m not sure it’s lubricated. It slides on nylon.
You can download the old manual here:

Anyone that knows me knows I’m not an Aerocarb fan. I’ll be kind and just say that my experience with trying to lube the slide is that is should not be lubed as the lubricant will attract dirt and make the binding worse.
If you insist on using an Aerocarb please don’t use the older “push-open” throttle type … best to use a “pull-open” set up as there is nothing quite like needing the power and the throttle won’t open. Don’t ask me how I know this … ![]()

Thanks for the input. I have flown with this for 400 hrs without problems so would like to fix it if I can. I have a Revmaster throttle body sitting on a shelf, bought as a back-up. might have to use it.
