Acro Aileron Counterweights on Sonex-B

My plans call for not just balancing the ailerons with each other, but that each aileron is to be (approx) level also. This probably is doable with kit provided counterweights on a non-acro aileron, but it’s not possible (that I can see) on the acro aileron. It will take a lot more counterweight to achieve that. I’ve queried Factory but no reply. I may have seen a post on forum where Factory says to just balance acro ailerons with each other and go on (not worrying about the “Level” part as plans, at least my plans, direct). Are acro ailerons built differently then, as compared to non acro and not nearly as well balanced to avert flutter? Anyone have thoughts? Thanks much!

Balance Sport Acro Aileron with 1/2 of the supplied Counterweight (Sonex P/N SNX-W04-08). All flight testing has been conducted using the same counterweight as the standard Sonex Aileron.

I have acro ailerons on my classic A model. I balanced them to match each other. I went a few knots over Vne in phase 1. This was discussed at length in the old forum, I remember it well.

They have an extra rib due to the extra length. Excellent choice, by the way.

Okay Bryan, that’s what I needed to know. Will press on and not fret about it. FWIW I’ve tried to meticulously stay on top of the B model Sonex revisions throughout the build, so pretty sure this is a plans mistake, i.e. the detail got left in the B drawing??? Whatever the case, you’ve been a great help (again)! Sure Enjoy your and Adam’s videos, keep it up and thanks!
