I’ve been using the negative pressure system (https://antisplataero.com/products/cran … t-complete) with a separator on my Sportsman for years. When rebuilding the ToolShed I installed the same system minus the separator. I figured the RevMaster will have much less blow-by than the lycoming and as such oil lost overboard would be minimal.
Perhaps those with AeroVee/other-VWs can clue me into how much blow-by they seem to experience. I’ve only have two flights on the RevMaster.

I have a home made blow by catcher that is basically a one pint Ball Jar with a wad of stainless scrubber in the top covering the exhaust holes in the top. The ball jar lid is two piece so you can unscrew the lid and remove the jar without disturbing the tubing. The jar is also marked in ounces so I can measure the blow by which I think is another good way to measure your engines health. My engine has 350 hours on the hobbs and I normally see from 10 to 12 ounces in a 25 hour oil change. Not like the old quart in 10 that I experienced with the Cessna.

Mine returns the oil to the engine via the valve cover. I’ve never found any evidence of “slime” going back to the engine. I have a clear return tube from the separator to the valve cover. I have a catch can so if anything gets past the separator it does not get dumped overboard. It also acts as a secondary outlet for crank case pressure if the separator return gets blocked. I only check the catch can during the annual condition inspection and have never found more than a few drops.
