Did anyone tune in? I’ll watch the replay when I have time. I see on Flightaware they have been flying a bunch.
Bryan, yes I tuned in. It looks like an exciting plane. So much more versatal than the sonex-A/B heard. They still have a bit of work to do. It’s not yet flown with the extended wing tips which may, once they fly it, indicate a modification to the rudder. Right now they are thinking the rudder is a bit much (at least with the short wings). Roll rate is slower than the low wings and they are thinking up changes to increase it.
They are now projecting early partial kits to start going out in January with quick builds to go out 2Q 2026.
From the Webinar, I’m also looking forward to Prototype 2 with a Rotax 915iS installed. Mark mentioned a TurboTech 140HP engine too, but that one is about $122k….too rich for my blood!

Every time they post a picture I like it more. Looks good with the aluminum wing tips. Id be curious to see two different tip lengths tested to get the best compromise. A carbon tip option like Mark alluded to would probably be worth the expense on tips that large. I like the 5.00x5 tires in the wheel pants. I wonder if it’s going to come with 5.00x5, I think I’d prefer them even if it costs a few knots. I don’t see a downside to a bit less flap and a little more aileron unless it increases adverse yaw. So far not sold on the ground adjustable prop. Maybe a Prince? I’m itching to get started!
It’s probably like the Waiex - normal flying, no adverse yaw. I leave my feet on the floor. Aerobatics with full aileron displacement, a little adverse yaw.
