Landing light kits

I recently purchased a complete OneX and am in the process of getting a new test area for phase 1.
I plan on getting the OneX approved for night VFR and am looking for landing light kits.
Anyone know of a kit still available in 2024?
Seems like I may have to just make my own as I can’t find many options.

I am going to make my own using LED off road lights off of Amazon. I think, that once I get my wing kit, I’ll use the wing tip ribs to make a mock-up, and bend Lexan to make the cover.

I made my own lights, but used a Fresh Aero Sonex leading edge kit. That is no longer available. I have molded a plexiglass lens for a Cessna C140 before, and it is not hard. You need a felt covered form, an oven (probably not your wife’s) and an oversized piece of plexiglass. Some landing light threads:

Somewhere I have pictures of how I fasten the lenses inside the wing. I’ll have to do a sketch or something. I can’t find them.

I found some pictures. The lens holders are make out of 0.125. Had to machine a step in them, I probably did it with a dremel or something. One of them does not go to the ends, but the step has a rounded corner which holds the lens left to right. The other one is a straight step. In the final implementation, I put nutplates where the clecoes are. I countersunk the holes and dimpled the skins for #6 flush screws. The screws are a little long, so you get the lens into the step and then pull it into place.
Edit: those holders may have been part of the kit. Hard to remember. But I think anyone could duplicate the idea.

I have a pair of the “blank lampless” Duckworks light mounts in a box downstairs. They only list them for other models, but they’ll sell you the Sonex version if you ask. https://duckworksav.net/product/blank-l … tall-kits/ They have a bit of a reputation for slow response, but they replied to me nearly instantly over the holidays, and shipped them right out.
For lights, I ended up with 4 of the individual LEDs from Flyleds so I could aim two for taxi and two for landing. https://flyleds.com/products/ Note that Flyboy sells their products as well, and keeps some in stock in the US- https://flyboyaccessories.com/collectio … hting-kits

I do like them. I only use the wig/wag in day VFR (sport pilot). I had another pilot say they are too bright and distracting to other pilots. I thought that was good enough for me. That was 12 years ago so I believe LEDs that are just as bright and weigh even less can be had these days.
Here’s a video where you can see them on approach on a bright sunny day (starts about 2:30):

Thanks guys, I’ll build my own.

I ordered 2 last month and they arrived within a week and emailed me promptly. They are the standard non led ones.
