I took my cooler to the parts washer, and my flow there seemed poor in the forward direction. I reversed the flow and it noticably improved. Also I ran with the oil cooler elimination block that you install if running a bottom mount cooler, and my pressures went from 70 psi to 50. These were good troubleshooting tests.

This thread demonstrates a surprising & unexpected level of parochial /tribalism that I did not expect from fellow Sonex pilots.
I had expected a polite exchange of ideas - how naive of me.
I have owned my errors (I should not make assumptions) & apologized, despite this, I have been subject to unrelenting attack.
The attacks followed after the person, who seems to be the tribal leader, stating “Ignore the Rotax advice.” No Rotax advice was given. This uncalled for statement is completly out of context and demonstrates an astonishing level of mental rigidity & the calling out of what seems to be the “other” ie not of the AeroVee/air-cooled engine tribe
The Rotax person is not of our tribe - treat all he says with hostility/contempt.
The above was the taken up by a number of the faithful, with similar out of context statements and no logical argument. At one stage it seems I was likened to an AI entity.
My reasonably presented suggestion coelesed to; know your crankcase oil’s optimum, temperature range & match it to your engines temperature operating range.
You are not obliged to accept my suggestion’s. If rejecting, it would be polite, not required, to give reasons, rather than the feeding frenzy of hostility, I have been the but of.
To say that I am disapointed, in the tone of this thread, would be an understatement.

No, we are not trolls. Out of the 46 replies to this topic, You contributed 15. Only one of those 15 posts directly addressed the topic. The remainder fall into the category of “I am right and the rest of the world is wrong”. This elevates "Beating a dead horse " to ridiculus absurdity.
