AeroConversion throttle with Bing

Does anyone use the AeroConversions Throttle Quadrant with the Bing on a Jabiru 3300. I like the lever style. If not the AeroConversions is there one that has worked for their setup.
Thanks

Hi Ken,
I haven’t used the quadrant with a Bing, but there is an upper hole on the actual throttle lever designed for push open throttle/butterfly.
Another cable end fitting plate would have to be made and located further up the F14(?) angle piece as the stock cable end location wouldn’t work.
Certainly a consideration instead of making reversing levers and such to change the direction in the engine bay?
Another thought though, it may have too much movement for the Bing butterfly and end up being a bit sensitive..
Cheers
Tony

Just converted from an Aerocarb to the Rotec and had to switch the pull. The top hole in the throttle lever works fine to reverse the throw.

Thanks guys,
John, what cable fitting did you use for the top hole? Did you have to form a support for the cable fitting like Tony suggested? A picture would be great if you have one. I have some ideas but it would help to see one that works.

The Aerocarb I just used a bowden cable with a solid wire. Never really liked it as it tended to slip at the throttle attach and there was some slop at the carb attach.
For the Rotec I wanted a push/pull.
I used a Push/Pull control from ACS

and a forked terminal assembly AN665-21R for the throttle end. The Rotec carb has a fitting to receive the other end.

The fork needed to be enlarged slightly to get it fit over the slightly thicker throttle arm.
I also fabricated brackets to hold the control cable in place at each end. There’s a groove in the control end that you slide into a ¼ slot cut in the bracket. (or buy some from ACS) I’ll try to take some pictures next time I’m at the hangar.

Thanks John, I would just need to fabricate a bracket to hold the control cable at the quadrant end. I still have a lot to do before the throttle, so no hurry on the picture. Whatever is convenient for you.

Thanks for the picture. I have an idea for using the Bowden cable that I am going to try first. If that doesn’t work I will go with your setup.
